Joy on the Journey is a heartwarming non-profit organization dedicated to bringing moments of delight and freedom to elderly individuals living with dementia. Through the use of specially designed trishaws (three-wheeled bicycles with a comfortable passenger seat at the front) trained volunteers pedal seniors through parks, neighborhoods, and scenic routes, gifting them the simple pleasure of fresh air, movement, and the world passing by. We will also be giving rides to seniors and the mobility impaired (living in independent and assisted living) as well as those with dementia/cognitive impairment. For many riders, who may rarely leave their care facilities, these outings spark genuine joy: smiles, laughter, and even cherished memories stirred by the sights, sounds, and breeze around them. More than just a ride, Joy on the Journey offers a profound reminder that life’s beauty is still fully accessible, regardless of age or cognitive ability, and that the journey itself is always worth celebrating.
Homelessness doesn’t only affect individuals — it impacts entire families. Today, families make up 37% of the total homeless population, a sobering statistic that highlights the urgent need for safe housing, supportive services, and long-term solutions.
These families, often with young children, face daily struggles without the stability of a home. Our mission is to provide shelter, support, and hope — ensuring every family has a chance to rebuild their lives with dignity and security.
